Barbie's Garden

Barbie has been a Lioness or a Lion for some 20 years. A Past President of The Bonita Valley Belles she has been a member of Highway Lions Club for about ten years.

Barbie's garden is her pride and joy. She often refers to it as her Psychiatrist, and while battling cancer and the associated radiation and chemo treatments, used her time with the flowers as a means of both physical and mental relaxation. During Dick's absence while he was stationed in Washington D.C. The garden grew by leaps and bounds. What was once a lawn in the back yard is now for all practical purposes a rain forest and resembles parts of the San Diego Zoo. The front yard no longer contains a manicured lawn, but is now a lush Cottage Garden. It is a continuing effort, and Barbie, a painter of some repute often refers to it as her unfinished canvas. From the street side strip in the front to the Hedge in the rear this whole yard is a work in progress.
