GENERAL STATEMENT

Our performances are a commemoration of the Old West, and are not meant to indicate a position on the question of firearms ownership.  This is a decision each individual has the right to make .  It must be stressed that “The Regulators” do not encourage anything but the SAFEST of behavior when around or involving firearms.

OLD WEST REENACTMENTS

What is most important to "The Regulators" is that we perform routines that, first, the audience enjoys and, second, we can enjoy performing. While we strive to be authentic to the period, our skits tend to be on the lighter side with safety and humor being the main ingredients. So if you're tired of events where too much emphasis is placed upon being too seriousyou will always have fun with "The Regulators!"

One aspect, we treat with absolute seriousness though, is our Gun Safety Demonstration, which we will do before every performance.

While we have received several awards in competitive events, competition is always secondary to audience enjoyment. We have ammunition suitable for use indoors, which reduces the noise of the gunfire, as well as "standard" loads for outdoor use where we can let everything "fly".

GUN SAFETY

DEMONSTRATIONS

"The Regulators" consider one of our most important functions to be to help educate our audiences in the safest possible behavior where firearms are involved. We regularly perform these demonstrations free of charge for schools, Boys and Girls Clubs, and basically any youth group. But adults can learn too, and we are available!!

GENERAL COLOR

SHOTGUN WEDDINGS

Do you want a unique wedding? Just provide us with a little "inside" information, and let us go!! The crowd will love it, and we guarantee the Bride and Groom will never forget their "Shotgun Wedding"!! We have a legally ordained minister, so we can perform fully legal ceremonies, or simply add a little fun to the Reception. Some of our best `Weddings" have been at Anniversary Parties, where we help the couple retake their vows ......with a vengeance!!

COOKOUTS

Our fully trailored cook shack is available for a wide variety of good vittles, from hamburgers to Texas barbecue!!

History of The Regulators

Several groups known as "Regulators" came into being after the Civil War.

Perhaps the most notorious, though, was formed in New Mexico by an Englishman, John Tunstall, to protect the cooperative of small ranchers he led against local "cattle barons". Tunstall befriended a number of young runaways, including William Bonney, Doc Scurloc, Dick Brewer, Steve Bantley, Charlie Boundry and a Navajo renegade, Chavez.

When Tunstall was murdered, his "Regulators" were issued arrest warrants to bring in the accused killers. But Dick Brewer, the leader of the "Regulators", was killed, and an impetuous William Bonney took over. Carried away with his new found authority, Bonney shot and killed three innocent citizens he'd mistaken for wanted men. The local sheriff, William Brady, was now after Bonney and the rest of the "Regulators". They confronted and killed the sheriff, and so the hunt was on.

SO WAS BORN THE LEGEND OF

"BILLY THE KID"
